Coming January 2025

Mondays-Fridays | 7-7:45 am

Saturdays | 9-10 am

During the month of January, we set aside twenty-one days for a special time of prayer and fasting. This dedicated season of prayer provides an opportunity for our church family to gather, unite as one voice and seek God’s wisdom and direction for the new year. We would love to have you join us as we pray for our nation, city, families, and homes.

Join us wherever you are by downloading the daily prayer focus to pray along with us. Hard copies are available free at East Coast Believers Church.

“What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of ‘God bless it! God bless it.’”

21 DAYS OF PRAYER IS FOR YOU
21 DAYS OF PRAYER IS FOR YOU

If you sense that God has more for your life, 21 Days of Payer is a great place to start believing him for all that He has for you. At the prayer services, you will put seeking God first into practice, and when you do this, he will start working on your behalf like never before. You will see a difference in your relationships, your work, your family and every area of your life. It is then that you will best be able to spread His love to others.

What is fasting?

At East Coast Believers, we encourage a church-wide fast for 21 days. The goal of fasting is to draw nearer to God. The idea is to sacrifice something, and when you start to think about it, turn your thoughts to God and pray for our nation, city, families and homes. Biblical fasting always has to do with eliminating distractions for a spiritual purpose; it hits the reset button of our soul and renews us from the inside out. It also enables us to celebrate the goodness and mercy of God and prepares our hearts for all the good things God desires to bring into our lives.

During this season of focused prayer as a church family, we seek the Lord in several areas: we're believing God for answered prayer and direction for specific needs, declaring our dependence on God in every area of our lives, asking for forgiveness for our sins and standing in the gap for our land, praying for the completion of the Great commission, inviting the Presence of God in our church and our lives, and Crying out to God for revival in our generation. We would love for you to join us as we gather to pray for the needs of our city, nation, families, and homes.

In the New Testament, people fasted to minister to the Lord, ordain men to the ministry, and seek God in times of crisis. You must always have a purpose for fasting! …It is important to remember that fasting does not change God. He is the same before, during, and after you fast. But fasting will change YOU. It will help you keep the flesh under and become more sensitive to the Spirit of God.
— Kenneth Hagin | A Commonsense Guide to Fasting

WHAT DO I FAST?

It’s up to you! It’s a personal commitment between you and God. There are all different types of fasts. Some people do a fast called the Daniel Fast, some people fast specific foods or activities, i.e. chocolate, soda, TV, Social Media. It’s very typical to fast a single meal, a whole day, or three days or more. Your personal fast should present a level of challenge, but it is very important to know your body, your options, and, most importantly, to seek God in prayer and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do. This is between you and God, and you are encouraged to pray about what type of fast is best for you. We also encourage you to seek the advice of a physician before starting any fast, especially if you have any health concerns.
